Fronttandtrauma

Dental Traumatology – From Theory To Practice, From Prophylaxis To Replantation, From Complication To Replacement.

  • Trauma is very frequent, urgent, does not care for schedules.
  • Trauma is initially a lay people’s problem.
  • Trauma compromises severely the survival of teeth. Trauma is complex and variable.
  • Trauma is therefore merely studied, taught, known.
  • Trauma is a challenge for patients, parents, dentists.

The course shall provide knowledge for dentists and staff to enable them to inform and instruct lay people concerning prevention of and first aid after trauma, to understand trauma, and the unique interaction between the different damaged tissues, potentiating the risk for complications and tooth loss, and requiring nothing but the very best treatment to discern severe from minor trauma, and also the need for an immediate or early invasive treatment or a more reserved and observant behaviour to know about the consequences of healing complications and about possible treatment options, especially in the growing patient. All topics are visualised by exemplary cases, garnished with numerous practical hints, and enriched with a critical view on the existent literature.

Since that is a lot of stuff, some time before the course the presentations will be available as flash videos which should open in every browser.
